The first vital step in meditation is development of concentration of the mind. Better concentration means better control over the functions of the mind. The capacity for sustained thinking on any topic is an absolute necessity in tackling difficult problems. Selection of a correct asana for meditation is very important.
THE SADHNA HALL
The Sadhna/Meditation hall is fully air conditioned for the students’ comfort and to enable them to practice meditation in any season. It can accommodate up to 100 sadhaks and cushions are provided. Meditation classes are held early morning before yoga and in the evening after yoga.
The traditional form of Hatha Yoga and Raj Yoga is taught by well qualified, senior and experienced Yoga teachers.
The library is very well stocked with books authored by many Spiritual Gurus. It also offers a vast collection of books based on Yoga and Meditation in many languages. Daily newspaper is provided in Hindi as well as in English.
The Ashram has a clean, fully functional community kitchen, where pure vegetarian Sattvic and Yogic food is prepared and served by well-trained staff. Sadhaks are required to wash their own dishes after their meals.
Daily discourse covering Hindu philosophy is conducted by ourlearned Acharyas. Any querry about Yoga & Meditation can also bediscussed during these sessions.
Agnihotra (Fire Ritual) is conducted every morning with chanting of mantras while offering various medicated Herbs and Ghee (clarified butter)
into the divine fire. The Havan has purifying effect for the surrounding environment as well as for those performing it. It is open to all The
Sadhaks in the Ashram.
